The Way Of The Apple

20 06 2008

My son, Noel, loves to look at all of the lunchboxes and thermoses throughout our house.  He loves to uncap and cap the thermoses over and over again.  It makes me recall my love for lunchboxes as a young lad.  They were just soooo much better back in the 1970’s.  They had big pictures on them and glass-lined thermoses that held very little to drink.  They were clunky and a bit inefficient – much like most things back then – but they were a statement in the cafeteria.  “Yeah, that’s right, I’m carrying The Six Million Dollar Man.  What do you have??”

Here are a few that our boys can choose from:  The Banana Splits, The Brady Bunch, Charlie’s Angels, Apple’s Way, The Krofft Supershow, The Bugaloos, The Muppets, Knight Rider, H.R. Pufnstuf, Superfriends, Kiss, Star Wars and The Archies.

wow, the Brady Bunch one is totally unrecognizable. Awesome!

Hey, my favorite odd collectible is a crystal radio kit from the ’70s with an unnamed band on it. But it’s totally the Jam, down to the Rickenbackers.

I LOVE the Jam! That sounds like a real treasure! Do you own said item?

I’ll take a pic if I can dig it up.
